Shadow The Black Crochet Cat

Welcome to my free Halloween Black Cat pattern!

I couldn’t decide what size to make this cutie so you can find a similar “miniature” version here!

Difficulty: Intermediate – knowledge of magic ring technique, amigurumi increases and decreases, joining two legs together as well as basic sewing techniques.

Time to create: 3-5 hours

PLEASE FEEL FREE TO SELL WHAT YOU MAKE BUT PLEASE REFERENCE ME AND THIS PATTERN IF YOU DO. DO NOT SELL THIS PATTERN OR REDISTRIBUTE AS YOUR OWN. IF YOU WANT TO SHARE THIS PATTERN, SEND A LINK TO THIS PAGE.

What you’ll need

  • US 4 (3.5mm) Crochet Hook
  • Approx 100g of black DK yarn.
  • A small amount of pale pink embroidery thread
  • Ribbon for the bow (optional)
  • Acrylic toy stuffing – I get mine here
  • 1 x pair 10mm safety eyes
  • Stitch marker
  • Scissors
  • Sewing needle

Abbreviations

  • MR – Magic ring
  • CH – Chain
  • SS – Slip Stitch
  • SC – Single crochet
  • SC Inc – Two single crochet stitches in the same stitch
  • SC2tog – Single Crochet two stitches together in the front loop only.
  • * – Repeat sequence
  • FO – Fasten off

Notes:

If you are not familiar with the Magic Ring technique you can simply replace this with 2 Chains and use the second chain from the hook as your magic ring.

I.e. MR 5 = CH 2, in 2nd CH from hook 5 SC.

This pattern uses an invisible decrease throughout, this is created by decreasing in the front loops only.
